FRIDAY’S CHILD AND OTHER IDEAS

Friday’s Child and Other Ideas is a collection of instrumental compositions that I have been working with for quite a while. My inspirations include, but are certainly not limited to, the fingerstyle guitarists who grabbed my ears early on, as well as the music I heard on the radio growing up. Each of these pieces has its own story.

As a guitarist, these pieces are what I want to play. As a listener, they are what I want to hear.

Some of these pieces started with a chord progression, others with a fragment of a melody. Still others were spontaneously improvised in a performing situation and then saved for later. I am thankful for the musical training I have had, which has positioned me to be able to notate the music that I imagine.

While this EP consists of guitar versions, I suspect these pieces have journeys ahead of them in other incarnations as well.

My hope for you, the listener, is that you will enjoy listening to these pieces, and that the music both lifts your spirit and brightens your day.
